Argh no stealth?
My fav toon in all MMO's was Daoc's scout...archer with stealth. From what I read stealth got shelved....but for how long? Stealth is one of the best dynamic components I seen in MMO pvp. The idea of 2 professions can only make it better, where no more typical "watch your back" for rogues only. Oooooo I hope the devs will eventualy place stealth in the game. Primary profs using stealth as secondary would landmark some wooty type of pvp never seen before:P

Holding down the right CTRL key reveals all monsters on the map. (Also all characters on a PvP map when you're playing PvP) The round overhead map shows the location of all monsters, characters and NPC's. Stealth would be pretty difficult to implement don't you think?!?

There are monsters that are hidden until you get near them. Spiders that will climb down trees, and scorpions that will dig their way up the earth. A stealth "hide" skill could work the same way. Not very useful though, except in some rather specialized PvP situation. Stealt movement would be hard to integrate and balance, it would be a rather major chane to the combat system.

I'm actually looking forward to a game without a "stealth class" per se. It seems that in far too many PvP games (Daoc, Wow, etc.) stealthers become "the" class of Pvp that sooner or later everyone ends up rolling one just because its not terribly fun to be a support class in a world full of backstabbers. Think about how many games have 15 or so classes at the beginning and then are reduced to only 4-5 classes that are actually viable in PvP.
I like thieves too, but GW seems like a nice change from the old formula. |
